Oh yeah, definitely. It's a completely different thing.

I have also hopes for Mary/ Matthew and Castle/Beckett but I'm afraid I'll be disappointed. and I'm already dividing ships into A/R and the rest
 I like those two and sometimes I love them but I think I'm emotionally exhausted after my top ships and now I can hardly ship anyone hardcore.

I know  but it'll get better after a while.
It always does, even if it's incredibly slow. But still :bawl: do you by any chance know what is the best blu-ray set? I went to amazon but there were three different sets and I don't know which one is worth buying the most

Ohhh is about a female politician? :d

Quote:

Oh Kiki I keep meaning to ask you but I always forget. Have you seen Friday Night Lights?

It's not about that but there's an important character who is a politician and she's amazing :love:

Aww noo :( I was hooked from the pilot. I was asking because you love married couples and FNL has my favorite married couple

yeah I have a few ships I like but it's nowhere near my emotional investment in A/R, I'm pretty sure nothing will top them for me, it's just so different from the usual stuff

I really don't know, everytime I had been thinking about buying I figured I needed the money for sth else, but I remember there was a set with a Cylon action figure :lmao:

Good way of tempting Kiki :)
ahhh! I made my first blackmailing today to make a friend watch BSG :')

I saw it! I wanted a raider though so it could take Scully for a ride (and she would still find a way to say it wasn't true). I might end up buying one just because of that :look:

Ohhhhh that definitely sounds like my kind of thing! Perhaps after I finish TXF I can try that  just remind me ;)

Yea, thats the reason I started watching but I don't the pilot did very little for me. However I don't think I put 100% of my attention to it. I should try again cause I have heard great things about the couple in that show!

Maybe it's just not your thing. I was a mess after I finished the pilot, and I don't usually like pilots. Eric/Tami are amazing :love: I think you should give it a second try and this time pay more attention ;)

right ? :lmao: you know I couldnt go with marriage angle, because Saul and Ellen arent exactly advertisable :rotfl:
and welcome to the blackmailing club, spreading the word is the way to go! no one wants to watch it at first and then they end up in love with the show.

It is! Actually my friends want to watch it but they are busy and I already gave them a thousand other shows to watch, so it will take some time

BSG panels look like a cult  a bunch of people screaming "SO SAY WE ALL" in such an excited way...

Gelfling 08-23-2012 06:59 PM

:rotfl: there is NO WAY I'm catching up on last week's posts in this thread! :rotfl:

Just want to say the BSG mini is the best scifi I've seen on tv in a long time!

That Homeland trailer??? :thud: daaaaamn!!! Finally something I look forward to besides the Fall!

Quote:

Political Animals is done, unfortunately didn't get any better.
I'm shocked!

Quote:

OMG Boss is back So damn good!
WHAT?? It's on already???! :gone:

Quote:

On not TXF/BSG talk, I've seen 20 min of the latest The Newsroom and I'm so angry with it, ugh.
 why? :P

Quote:

Just enjoyed it overall, and excited what next week will bring.
What did you think of the Casey Anthony circus?

Quote:

The second part was better, but I wished the "good" characters weren't that good and "bad" that bad (like that ***hole from the debate).
I don't think they are good or bad. They just have different motivations. They went to great lengths to have a character from the GOP who agreed with Will on the debate (love Arkin and I'm sure he'll be back), the other guy just wasn't interested in any form of debate that would show that their candidates are hairdos. Makes total sense.

Quote:

The Weiner girl and the girl from the store in the same episode was too much for me.
You think they don't exist? The bimbo eruptions had been all over the news after the Wiener thing. They didn't make them up.

Quote:

Not a big fan of Gaius. He is interesting but no. Let's see how long my love for everybody will last
nooooooooo Boomer is a cylon
Love Baltar! And Boomer being a cylon is one of the best storylines in the show I think.
Oh and I absolutely hate the music  I know I'm in a minority.

Quote:

It is, but even if it were the best show ever made it probably would still not be nominated because it's sci-fi. And even worse it was airing in the sci-fi channel
Well, again, ST: Next Gen was nominated as a drama but it took them longer than BSG lasted! And it's true it didn't help that Syfy was airing BSG, imo. I'm royally pissed that the cast never got a single nod though. Even if the show didn't, I could live with that, but the cast wasn't scifi! They turned in nuanced spectacular performances that transcended the genre, even for the scifi haters!

Oh I need to post this! Spoilers ahead for the whole show so careful if you haven't seen it all but it's a hilarious parody, especially if you know those RPG games :look: which I guess nobody else knows here  but anyway

Quote:

They are. Yes, I think so. TXF has a more normal setting. And maybe being the 90's helped too?
 how normal? I think what helped XF is that they redefined drama as a genre and it was about more than scifi. Once the show became popular enough that even the Emmys couldn't ignore it, they tried it and realized it was a drama above all and that the scifi element was secondary to the characters journey. The same can't be said about most of BSG. Even in the characters stories, scifi was an core part of everything.

Quote:

Cain was a bitch btw but Michelle Forbes was amazing!
 and it really raised her profile, which was long overdue, imo.

Quote:

I guess they figured they should kill someone off but it was too early for more important characters
Well he was the one who asked to leave the show. At least they gave him an exit.

Quote:

Ugh I'm so sick of Kara/Lee drama.
:rotfl: yep that was just so 90210!

Quote:

It was once even called "TWW in space"
 yeah, no.

oh these BSG comics!!! :rotfl:

Also, can I just mention how hilarious that Aga and Nanda kinda switched icons now? :lmao:

Quote:

I watched 2 episodes of S6, I don't like X-files being closed
 ... AGAIN!

Quote:

next episode is Triangle! Another example of trolling
Hey, hey! It's a great episode! :P

Quote:

And isn't the long shots thing awesome? I love that TXF experimented a lot
  and that's why they couldn't get ignored by the Emmys! Seriously, pre-XF tv direction was... so static and rigid! They used cinematic techniques in so many ways!

Quote:

and Mulder got a brand new apartment!
 and you'll see he likes it the way it is apparently :lmao: (Monday!!!)

Quote:

Ahhhh I just saw Mind's Eyes!!! So good and Lily what a treat
Earned her an Emmy nomination!

Quote:

I'm watching Rain King, the cow
I just can't watch that episode any more :(
As much as I loved it, the sight of Victoria Jackson makes me want to throw my screen out the window!

Oh no, I know they exist. But they are constantly bringing those characters up, I'm sick of them.

Baltar is so interesting! Except season four is kind of boring for him, that whole cult thing was too much for me and he didn't get to do anything very interesting until the finale.
Boomer being a cylon was so amazing! And the suicide attempt! :thud:
You hate the music? Nooooo!

Yes! The show even got nominated for writing and directing but no acting nods at all? Damn you snobby actors! And c'mon, not even the two Oscars nominees? And Mary had a cancer storyline, and that's so Emmy material! Ugh, those people.

Well it's a sci-fi but it's also a cop show. They walk down real streets and use cars and there's no robots, you know?
It is more drama than sci-fi. But I think BSG is more drama than sci-fi too, it's about the characters, but yeah, the sci-fi element was still incredibly important, much more than in TXF.

Tea Party?

I was feeling down so I decided to watch a Parks episode, there's nothing that makes me happy like this show does  and I ended up watching four episode s instead of one
