I must say that Darkness Falls seriously creeped me out but I hate all kinds of bugs, so...
Oh the bugs creeped you out! I thought it was Titus' pornstache!
Yeah it's a creepy episode. It was apparently also very hard to shoot because the conditions didn't make it ideal and the crew was stranded for a while due to roads being cut off by trees. It was the second and last episode directed by Joe Napolitano who walked off set after an argument with a crew member and refused to come back
Oh and the cute ranger is played by Duchovny's boyhood friend Jason Beghe. He also appears in the first Xfiles movie later in a cameo part. He most recently made the news as an ex-member of the Church of Scientology exposing some of the cult's methods.

I finished TXF S1, the finale was great! And man, Zeljko Ivanek in Roland was simply amazing!
I know, right?? He was brilliant. I can't believe he never even was nominated to the Emmys. At least he won one for Damages. Not the best episode but the performance was outstanding.

How about The Erlenmeyer Flask?? What an awesome episode! It really is the kickoff to the mythology arcs for me. The plot is so intense, it feels like it's much longer than the other episodes!
The direction was really great too. That shot when Mulder enters Zeus Storage It's the first episode directed by RW Goodwin, the show's executive producer (whose lovely wife, Sheila Larken, is seen as Scully's Mom, Margaret in the show) and he did a great job.
The way it ends, mirroring the pilot, Deep Throat's fate, the lines ("Ok, Mulder but I'm warning you, if this is monkey pee, you're on your own" ) and the general atmosphere make it a classic.
Gillian starts to look pregnant at that point, I think but it's nothing compared to S2

Quote:
Oh do you by any chance have that original script? I found a site that had a page dedicated to the differences from the original scripts to what aired but Fox asked them to take off the internet
I'm sure I have it somewhere. I downloaded it way before FOX started playing the moron game with the XF sites. They were the first one going witch-hunting for fans

I liked that scene where Elliot put him in his place though, even though Elliot is an idiot!
he's a glorified talk show host, exactly what Will had become and that's why he picked him to mentor. I just loves the scene where he slaps Don around and the way he comes back in the frame when Don doesn't get the Gypsy reference

Oh how I loved the references in that episode. The HAL thing at the end made me spill my drink

He actually made me care for his character in TXF after me hating his face for so long because he tortured my poor Juliet on Lost but I think that if Roland had aired a few seasons later he would have easily got a Emmy nomination.

he always seems to be playing the bad guys these days!! True Blood, The West Wing, Lost...

very likely although "guest" nominations are usually people with a higher profile.

Really??! Yeah they were really lucky. They couldn't find anyone they really liked for Margaret so they were going to cut the character from the beginning and get a brother to talk to Scully at the funeral but then Sheila was on set and Carter said he noticed a bit of a resemblance between her and Gillian. She was mostly doing local theatre at the time and didn't want to get involved into a show but the character was a small one so she accepted to do it.
I think she brought a lot to many crucial scenes throughout the show and they were really lucky.

Seriously there are episodes, she looks like a school bus! but hey it was probably the best thing that happened to the show so kudos to Carter for fighting FOX on replacing her!

I will take a look at my hard drive asap.

thank you!

BREAKING BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The last scene, holy crap! I know Bryan Cranston won a thousand Emmys but man I would give it to him again. Walt is scaring the hell out of me in this episode. MAGNETS!

I really liked Political Animals. It wasn't as good as I hoped it would be but very entertaining.

The Newsroom the last few minutes and I love Mac, Jim, Will, Neal and Sloan so much! And Charlie too!

HAHA yea it was great! I loved seeing him put Don in his place!

Me too I mean is not the "tightest" writting I have seen. But Weaver makes it easy for me to watch over and over again (and the first 10 minutes, was like if I was back in the 2008 campaign hearing HRC speak )

Mythology arc are the best, always gets my heart racing

I haven't been that excited about a new show since... yeah I can't remember but I haven't looked forward to new episodes since S1 of TGW and it's like x200

This week's episode was pure genius. I'd like to know what the conservatives who attack the show incessantly because it's "liberal propaganda led by a supposedly conservative character" will do with the fact that they slapped Obama around for his weak-ass position on guns, while slapping the Reps around for lying about it
The end of the episode gave me chills! Even Don stepped up! Wow.
Can someone tell me what's wrong with Mama's Boy though??! Is he pissed because he was the one making the news before with his ratings and now Will is listening to Mac instead? Or is he just pissed that he's being ignored?

Again, loved the references. Especially the Jersey Desperate Housewives thing and the Sloane/Will exchange about Annie Get Your Gun v. Oklahoma Annie and on that note, I was happy that they developed her character a bit. It's interesting to see her interact with others and I was afraid they'd just stick with the brainy hottie from a distance thing.

20 years will do that to you.

they started building slowly in S1 because they didn't know if they'd even get renewed but things get faster after that.

Quote:
TWW too??
Yes! Post Sorkin though. Just a few episodes into S5 actually.

Let's be honest here, you'd have loved it and watched it over and over again even it was written like crap

I like The Newsroom, but still, there's something I hate about it. The Sorkin part I don't like... also "mission to civilize"??

I finally met one of the others Bartlet daughters! and why is Rob Lowe still in this show? Sam's storyline could be so great in Somebody's Going to... if it wasn't for Lowe

Am I the only one who liked Sam? Maybe it has sth to do with a fact that I had no idea who Rob Lowe was before TWW I don't like him in P&R though.

Soo, I watched Duane Barry/Ascension and One Breath Today And Trinity's got to be the worst episode so far, but those 3 were brilliant!! I'm watching, they really made a good use of Gillian's pregnancy. Firewalker now, hello Bradley Whitford!

I didn't mind Sam, and yea I had no idea who he was back then either. But you know when Sam left, I didn't miss him one bit, and he doesn't even make my top 3 favorite male characters
