Carrie Preston makes an appearance on an up-coming Law & Order:SVU during November sweeps.
Law & Order: SVU Casts Carrie Preston and Timothy Busfield * And as you may guessed, no I am not particulary into Kelli Giddish. I'm glad the Kings and Brooke casted a blonde rather than a brunette for Kalinda, but that was about it. Exchanging Sophia for Lana isn't like switching the DARREN's character on Bewitched with Dick York to Dick Sargent. Don't know why people act like everyone connected to Kalinda are like one and the same type. I really didn't like some of the anti-shippers lobbying "meh! she can't act anyway. Just get another actress as the FBI agent". Uh huh. Yeah right. knock yourself out. Last edited by AnewFriend; 10-18-2011 at 06:10 PM |

I think you're showing your bias
I love Jill and I love Lana. I hope we get to see more of her on TGW soon. and I was reaaally disappointed when RP wouldn't let her go. But Sophia was a great character. I loved Kelli from Chase and Past Life so I was happy they didn't just cast anyone to "replace" Jill for this particular storyline. I'm not too sure how that would have turned out with Lana anyway. If anything, they would have burned her relationship with K to make the same point they did with Sophia being married. So all in all, I'm glad she wasn't available because now they can bring her back without all this bagage. __________________

I love Lana and I love how she challenges Kalinda and how she's always asking her questions. But I found Sophia's character fascinating! I loved how K was around her! I want them both! End of story! __________________

I find the scenes between Kalinda and Lana more sexy hot, as in novelty, and we get to see Kalinda more challenged. With Sophia I think we get a more real Kalinda, who doesn't need to raise her armor so much, or to explain herself... __________________

Yeah, err... TGW is on CBS. Sorry, some of those darn folks
watching the show can't handle things even when Peter did the vertical non-missionary to his wife Alicia. And they're married! I say how about bringing back Lana (Jill) simply as Kalinda's friend to bull**** and talk with? Sort of like Jean-Ralphio on Parks & Rec! Ok, minus the annoying Justin Timberlake singing. Robert & Michelle King love Parks and Rec. The bantering between Kalinda and Lana was funny, and that's what made their scenes amusing. Quote:
it was subtle and practically all acting. Hardly anything shown. The Sophia scenes were blatant and not done well because it looked to just be thrown in to show Kalinda and a woman romping in bed for ratings from channel surfers. Lily Taylor's Donna and Kalinda is simlar to Will & Celeste. Rather unpleasant and extremely bitter former lovers. When I mention the Sophia scene in S2 Finale, I meant that it wasn't written well. I understand the concept, and the reason to carry Kalinda's ephiphany toward her friendship with Alicia. But the bed thing came out of nowhere. Anyway, yeah they're different. Kelli Giddish doesn't do the winking, cheeky, eyebrow raise facial stuff like Jill. This seems to be more a Jill Flint the person, than a role play thing. And that nudge. Too funny. Didn't she nudge Kalinda as they were walking in Network in front of that FBI building? |

But I doubt that any kiss between Will and Celeste would be better than the one Kalinda and Donna had. Quote:

I love them both in different ways. And they are both great actresses, which doesn't spoil anything Quote:

But there was always this second degree, even in their very first scene together when they were just talking about work. What an awesome scene Quote:
And I think it was done really well. It was not overtly graphic but it was very sexy, just in a different stage of relationship. And it made a point, very effectively: Kalinda's feud with Alicia has left her raw and confused as to what she should do and who she should be. Quote:
Donna was sooooo much more interesting than Celeste. She wasn't pushing Kalinda to get back together, she was hurting and trying to hurt back. It was way more complex and compelling, even if poor Kalinda paid a dear price for her behavior with Donna. In fact, I think it's funny that all three women represent different stages in a relationship with Kalinda: the sexy flirtation, the on and off casual whatever, and the bitter post-breakup trauma __________________
