Kalinda and Lana can come back as guest stars. Seriously, they should have all the favourite guest stars from the earlier seasons come back for a big marathon reunion. Some of the guest stars have become as loved as the regular cast. I say recycle old guest stars rather than introduce new ones.

The way I understand it, extending the contracts of the cast doesn't mean it'll get a S8. I think it'll depend on the ratings next season. Kalinda departure will probably have an impact, a lot more so than Will's death. But you never know, they could reinvent the show again if Alicia becomes SA and they bring in one or two interesting new characters. I think they'll have to reinvent the show completely for it to survive. Most of the cases of the week are no longer interesting. We don't get episodes like "Doubt" anymore.

The problem is, the Kings don't do political storylines well. Politics is best if it's just in the background on this show. But if they want to shift the focus more to politics, which JM seems to want for Alicia, I don't know, it might doom the show.

IMO, they should get Robyn back as a series regular and expand her character. But it sounds like RK is thinking of hiring a new character to replace Kalinda. If Jess Wiexler isn't tied to another show just yet, they should grab her before it's too late. The fans already love Robyn, and she has good chemistry with pretty much everyone. Robyn was probably the *last* successful new character introduced on this show.
