I think I've posted in other threads about this show why I like Chris as a Judge so much... Which is one reason why this show was such a MAJOR disappointment to me.

Not only did it seem Chris (playing one side of one of the cases) was being allowed to run much of the case he was a side of (maybe Judges back each other the way police & other groups do), but then it truly did seem like a game of "musical chairs" with more than one case going on not just in the same episode but simultaneously (not sure who that defendant guy was, but I remain upset he... Far as I know... is still in jail, yet again).

I don't really care what happens between Jason & Alicia, though I'm hoping she leaves Peter (made me wonder when someone... I think Cary... Said people like her better since Peter lost the primary, like that means he's totally out of the race &/or would really affect people's opinion of her, which I doubt would, especially compared to her leaving him).

I know leaving Peter would make her no longer "The Good Wife" in some viewers' eyes... But then just alter the title (put an "X" before that word, for instance), as I think leaving him to focus on her own career (which includes not letting it be affected by him) would make her a BETTER... ANYTHING!!

Lastly, just make sure I note 3 things that stuck out to me:

1] I'd like to see the investigator work for Cary & Crew, but not Alicia... If anything, everything coming back about Will & the voice-mail should teach her not to mix work & relationships. Also, would like either her, Lucca, both, or neither to take Canning's offer... That home-office (laundry-room you can hear the office phone from) will affect one's ability to get & keep clients.

2] Speaking of Lucca, I question &/or disagree with her reaction(s) after Alicia went off in that laundry room. I for one was betting on, & in fact praying for, at least a brief "catfight". (I am not one of those guys who is "specially attracted" by 2 women fighting or anything, & a simple shouting macth or shouting back-&-forth would've been fine by me, but the way she did react? I flat-out disagree with the reality of that.)

3] I liked the arbitrator agreeing with the actor bit, & saying that affected his later decision(s). However, speaking of actors, I saw his name in the credits, & was SURE he died (at most-recent) sometime last Summer!!

Good episode. That meltdown Alicia had was a long time coming and I agree with a lot of posts that I read about(not here on FF) saying JM's acting was spot on. Not always a fan of her, but that scene was really powerful. Would have been even better with Kalinda, but hey Lucca was awesome though! It's just that Kalinda was...well...perfect? Close to perfection anyway.

Glad Alicia finally forgave Eli. Guess she needed that breakdown in order to forgive him and let go. What I'm hoping for right now? I hope that she is going to accept Cary's offer and make peace with Diane and Cary. I hope she divorces Peter and decides on a future with Mr sexy smile

The one odd thing about her mental breakdown? Her mention of her kids. She doesn't like them? Not even Grace (who helped her LOTS with her firm)? What the hell?

I seriously hate that judge. The whole case was so UNFAIR and the whole thing was ridiculous. Can't remember how Lucca said it exactly, but something about the brotherhoof of the judges, or something? That was spot on.

Alicia had just expressed seriously depressive, nihilistic thoughts. The empathic, compassionate response from Lucca was exactly what the situation called for. It gave comfort and diffused what could potentially have been tragic. Although seeing Lucca be this sensitive surprised me a little. I wouldn't have guessed she had it in her.
What would a cat fight have accomplished? And over what?

This. A catfight right after that meltdown would have been a disaster and pretty unrealistic. I have been depressed and I have had meltdowns..if someone would have screamed at me..it wouldn't have helped. You need emphaty in a situation like that. What Lucca did was the way to go..and the most realistic one at that. You really want to scream at a depressed person..especially if you are scared about them commiting suïcide?

I maintain it was neither realistic, nor "the way to go". No I don't want to see title character commit suicide (though it would've guaranteed no continuation w/o Kings, except maybe a spinoff or something with Grace, who I've often felt has lots of interesting things to explore).

But last week, someone offered to bring them both to a real firm with a real office, which (IMO, at least) seems to be a step up for Lucca. Also, I personally can say I stayed quiet about things I was upset about for a long time b/c I thought people I would've talked to around me had own problems... Anyway, that's why I kind of assumed Lucca did/does too (especially wondering what Jason "did to" Alicia, & with him coming back to IL/Alicia's life, etc.), so she doesn't need someone unloading a bunch of problems (most of which she can't help with, or might get yelled-at/attacked more if she tried) at that time.

I am coming to this episode a day late due to this network being blocked out by the local cable company over a financial dispute.

I thought Alicia's soliloquy while loading laundry was exquisite and one of the most memorable scenes of the season. Then Lucca's follow-up only added to fine performance. Great scene.

"Even when I'm not fine, I'm really fine".

I think the carpet is rolled out for the final walk down the aisle.

So in your opinion it's realistic to yell at someone who is obviously depressed and choose you out of all people to trust? You know that would only break those persons even more, right? You know it leads to suicides, etc? And you still want people to do that? I'm sorry, but that's quite offensive. The subject is really close to my bed and really personal, so I really can't understand someone making a comment like that. Won't comment on it any further though.

Alicia finally broke down, better late than never I guess? Did I think the show had proper build up for this moment not sure. But I am glad it finally happened and that she forgave someone. Maybe now she can really rebuild and take control of her life, but I won't hold my breathe. The lines about her kids, I am completely erasing that from the shows narrative.

And back to LAL we go SMH.

Lots of things lead to suicides... Lots of roads lead to McDonald's. That doesn't mean you have to take a specific road to get to any single McD's, or that certain actions can only have the one negative outcome. (Maybe if Alicia got even more depressed, which it seemed to me she was trying to hide being a bit, she'd be so low, things/she could only improve.)

I'm split, anyway... Glad to see show going when Kings leave it, & when (IMO) it didn't live up to so many potential things that seemed to be set-up for/during this season.

That was shocking right?

Pretending that it didn't happen... More episodes like this and I consider this season salvaged.

Very shocking to me because I don't know didn't feel very Alicia. Like of course I can see a parent think this but is hard to actually hear her say it, and there had been no indication that she felt this deeply about it. Shrug. I rather forget that line forever.

Not like much is feeling like Alicia anymore.

Plus why now? If she's ever felt that way, and again, never seen any indication of it, why now?

And yet you're still talking about it
