The only prediction I have is an award won by the show itself. Maybe a Golden Globe or an Emmy.

I'm waiting to see how the second season is received. It's usually easier to impress critics with a first season than with the Sophomore year.

This season is a single shot in term of writing so maybe we'll have a more consistent season but I believe without the show award you cannot really say you have something.

Gelfling 09-13-2010 08:54 AM

I'd be happy if they even only win the Writing Award because a) writing is half a show and b) it's a good step in the right direction to win the big thing. But nominations are good enough for a freshman show, now they need to get a few awards for real.

Det.Logan 09-13-2010 09:08 AM

Writing is good but there is only one way to reward everybody and in term of marketing revenue there is no paragon between writing and show. I just want this show to be in the spotlight, may be trivial, I agree.

 Awww  we all want everyone to know how great every aspect of the show is! You're not alone! :D

I want them to win big too! Frankly, it gives me hope in the future of network tv that looked a little gloomy. It also proves they can do great shows without having to resort to gimmicks and even though I remain sure that TGW would have been even better on cable with less restrictions and forced storylines, it deserves some damn recognition!!

When I look at all the press Mad Men/Jon Hamm is having this day I feel depressed (and he did not win the award... but the show did) :(

Gelfling 09-14-2010 11:15 AM

I know! But cable shows know they need the promotion. CBS is doing so good without doing anything, they don't see the need to spend time and money on it.

But CBS is trying to reach younger audience so maybe that kind of marketing is the right direction (Rolling Stones for example).
