Ok, what was the look between elfman and Alicia?

DR76 01-11-2015 11:06 PM

Did David Lee agree to Diane and Cary's offer? I was in the restroom.

Thanks for the new thread!

Yes.

Looks like Elfman likes her.

Honestly problem this season: Plot in front of character.

Good, exciting episode. That Cary/Diane vs Alicia scene was sublime. Wanted to see a scene like that for a while now. Cary and Diane were totally right. Alicia's priorities have changed and she should realise that. I feel bad for her at some level though. Now she really has to win. She has changed so much over the years. I love the changes, but I also understand Cary and Diane.

The whole plot around the riots was written ok, but it didn't really got to me.

Hated to see David Lee again. Not liking him a single bit.

Missed Kalinda this week. I still expect some answers. What happened to that phone call she was supposed to take? What was the deal with the white card she was supposed to put in Lana's wallet? So many questions...still unanswered.

The kitchen scene was perfect.

 is that new?

Honestly, something about this season really feels off for me. There have been some amazing moments/episodes, but something isn't flowing. I miss the case of the week tied in with the on-going plots. The SA Election seems messy, something just isn't right about it - like finally Cary and Diane have something to say about this all...

Where is Robin!? And Taye Diggs? And Peter/Alicia's relationship is so weird this year...it used to be such an interesting aspect of the show. Alicia just doesn't feel the same.

She is pretty unrecognizable, I can almost connect with her, but the moment she starts talking to her kids like they are Mike Kresteva you know something ain't right

The problem is that Alicia is running for political office about a year after she and Cary had established their law firm. All of their efforts seemed to be for nothing.

I have to agree. It seems as if the Kings are trying to reassemble Lockhart&Gardner, but with the addition of Cary as a partner. If this is the result, then what was the purpose of Alicia and Cary starting their own law firm, if Diane and Lee end up becoming partners as well?

I've been saying it for a while.

Not sure where they are going but I wish they knew

This is what is bothering me the most aswell. They started a lot of story lines, but fail to pick them up again. Lately it's just about Alicia and her running for SA. I love that, but I used to love the mix between law and politics. Now I just can't stop thinking about a missing Robyn, a missing Taye Diggs and even Lana ( though that could be explained by the actress' role in another show ), etc.

The writers promised us an answer as to what was so important about that white card Kalinda was supposed to put in Lana's wallet, but it still hasn't come up yet. The writers need to give us some answers. It bothers me.

I'm pretty sure it will come up again. They probably had Kalinda's exit storyline all mapped out and they knew all along about Jill Flint's schedule. I think they set up the white card so they could still talk about Lana and allow her character to be part of the plot even without seeing her.

I'm more bothered by the lack of explanation when it comes to Kalinda's character. They developed the Kalinda/Lana relationship. Kalinda let her hair down with Lana literally and figuratively. She promised to take Lana seriously, and I interpreted that as she won't see other people. Then just like that a couple of episodes later she slept with Cary.

We're probably supposed to believe she did it because he's going to jail for two years anyway, so why not just go along with it this one time. But they can't treat the K/L development never happened. They have to at least explain the status of C/K now that he's free. That never came up in this episode.

Maybe it will be explained, but when it comes to Kalinda, the more likely scenario is that they will just let it be ambiguous.

I feel they are treating Alicia this season the same way they have treated Kalinda since S4. In other words, very little makes sense. :P

Alicia's motivation to run for SA is now very weak. Because she can do a good job? Perhaps. But it's such a BORING reason dramatically speaking. I still think they should have let Castro be the opponent. Without Castro, there's no reason for the audience to root for Alicia to win. The whole scene with her getting mad at Diane was so forced. They are desperate to give her a reason to run and it's not working.

Except Kalinda had so very little screentime it was hard to do anything interesting with her, what's their excuse for Alicia?

I guess that's what happens when weak willed writers are under other influences
