Hey Gaby how are things?
Things are good. I still don't know when I'm starting my contract job. Personally, I'm hoping it's Wednesday since I have to get a TB skin test done on Monday and I'm hoping to get it read on Tuesday, so I can finally submit all the paperwork to Health Services for my classes. If I don't have it to them by the 20th, there is a $25 administrative late fee and if I don't have to them by the 29th, I'm administratively withdrawn from my classes. But I asked someone at the county health department about when they did the tests and they said Monday and Tuesday they do it, but the results are only read on Thursdays. And I'm definitely starting by then. So IDK. They said to call on Monday morning to talk with someone who might know more. I called too late on Friday afternoon, I think. Most everyone had gone home.

Today was the village-wide garage sale in my hometown. I sold $1 worth of my things. (Did not have much out of my stuff.) My dad sold four of his filing cabinets (he had like 10) for about $110, I think. (Two for $40 each and two small ones for a total of $30.) Mom came by and sold some of her things, too. I think she made out with about $5.50.

I've had dinner already. I'm cooking for tomorrow. Gumbo is best when cooked the day before anyway

Hey Gaby! that sounds like administrative BS to me. Hope you get everything sorted out.

Lily! how has your day been so far? Did Alex wake you this morning?

oh and Sleeper Cell?

This is shrimp and sausage gumbo but you can do it with a lot of different stuff. I do mostly Chicken and Shrimp or Duck and Crawfish Gumbo. I even do a veggie Gumbo. There are also Crab and Oysters Gumbo. It's really the basis that makes the Gumbo and then you can add whatever you want.

It's not "hot" spicy. You can add Tabasco or something like that but I don't add a lot. It's very tasty without it.

She's trying to salvage her office laptop. Those morons that are supposed to take care of it "couldn't do anything" (meaning they didn't try) so she's removed the hard drive and trying a backup.

The party's next week I thought it was this week since her friend's birthday was Tuesday but she's celebrating next weekend for some reason. BBQ in the afternoon and party at night. Sounds like fun

you'd really try anything wouldn't you?

It's really not that hard. I can send you a recipe and you can try it hush hush and if you make it, she'll be really impressed cause it looks much more complex than it is

at least once. That's the only way to know if you like it And I've tried way more disgusting things, trust me. Some turned out to be very good.

Hehe sometimes when you don't know and those are supposed to help don't want to, you're better off trying to learn and do it yourself. The amount of info you find online is truly amazing

Me too! I hope it's not going to be raining though because it's getting late in the season for BBQ in Paris! We're getting lots of showers these days

I guess. I think I would have tried that but I'm not sure about whatever else you tried

I promise it's really not that hard. Sometimes you have dishes that are deceivingly easy but demand experience or technique but this is just a straight "follow the recipe" thing. Some dicing, boiling, simmering, nothing fancy. The "difficult" part is to roast the flour to make the roux but it's no biggie. I can send you a pic of mine so that you know when yours is the right color and voila!

You made the Gratin Dauphinois last time. I'm sure Alex thinks you can't top it off. You don't want to prove her wrong?

Kiki, are you going out tonight?
