I always thought this was weird as well:

^ We know that if you ask the Sorting Hat to sort you into a certain House it will sort you there. So I assume Peter admired bravery and asked to be sorted into the House James, Sirius, Remus were in.

... since he's a manipulative (and dumb) coward, he would be opposite of Gryffindor. He needed to request Gryffindor or else he would've probably received Slytherin. Not that all Witches and Wizards in Slytherin are Dark. Not true at all. But in his case, the Sorting Hat would've picked up on his future betrayal and manipulation and put him in Slytherin.

He's not smart enough for Ravenclaw, not pure and loyal enough for Hufflepuff, not brave enough for Gryffindor. So that really leaves Slytherin due to his future story.

It's amazing how much time and effort Rowling put into wand making... I mean, she studied everything! She studied certain trees, location of each tree, positive traits, negative traits, etc. She did this with every aspect of her series which is incredible. You could take years researching all these areas. She went there plus wrote a classic book series. Phenomenal.

Umbridge was more dangerous to me than Voldemort because she was just evil, period. Voldemort, at least had the background indicating how/why the darkness entered his Soul. Umbridge... she was just evil, end of story.

The mystery of Umbridge was questioning why she was evil... why was she so dark and bad? She wasn't even aligned with Voldemort. It wasn't about that. She was just a horribly evil person in general which was dangerous and confusing because the motive wasn't there... she just was.

She certainly was
