The Middle: Season 1, Episode 20

“TV or not TV” – how poetic is that? “We’re getting rid of cable.” – “Mom’s cooking and no tv?” Brick would rather take his chances in the woods to help his family save some money. “What if there’s an emergency and we don’t have tv to tell us what to do?” “We need to get a hobby” - I would ask the internet. Life without television shows is a life not worth living. The whole family found new things to do, Sue wated to become a model anyway, Axl fought about his new found bands’s name and Brick read. The parents played bingo at the church. And they won 1000 $ - from the church. If church was that great, I’d really go. What a beautiful, touching ending, Mike got his job back cos his working place was cleared, and so the family got cable back and was happy again. I also liked Brick’s plan to get back from playing outside on the dangerous schoolground into the library. It was a really good and fun episode. 4 more episodes for this season.

Scoundrels: Season 1, Episode 5

Another a little bit above average episode, the plots were the usual stuff, Cal got an illegal job from his father, Cheryl was searching for a job, but couldn’t get one because of the arrest from 3 episodes ago was still on her record, Heather was dancing in the stripclub and Hope was selling illegal movie copies. Only the last ~10 minutes were really good, but only because they were like a perfect happy ending, Heather got a modelling job, Hope took over the video store, Cheryl’s record got cleaned, and the family was happy, they all were having dinner together. I think this episode could’ve been the finale of this show, hope the ending of the 8th episode is as good as this one today.

Shameless: Season 1, Episode 6

BOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!! THAT WAS A GREAT EPISODE! There did some much happen, where to start?

This bully showed up again, but Kash didn't dare to face him, he let him steal stuff from the store in front of him, even Ian couldn't do anyhting. That was mean, they showed how Cash got punched by that boy's father, so he was afraid. But then his wife showed up and showed the boys how to shoot on a cardboard-thing, that was cool, even better how Ian shot like a professional killer, wow, he learned a lot at this military training. Let's see what will happen next episode. Frank ows some guys 6000 $, 2 money collector showed to punch him, he got away but they got him in the end - tbc for next episode. I liked that Frank showed up in school to play Karen's dad, she really liked that somebody was interested in her schoolwork, cos she hates her father (two very nice quotes: „Not you, you **** face, I was talking to daddy Frank.” and „Keep laughing and I will slit your throat while you’re asleep.“ ), Sheila still doesn't leave the house. But it was mean of him not to care about the troubles of Carl, who is kicking and biting other kids at school. Still it was funny what the principal said to Fioana, because it felt so surreal, it was mean, to say „the sooner Carl is put in prison, the safer this world is gonna be” about a small boy, he has no parents, Fiona can only be there a certain amount of time, so he's doing weird stuff. But to punich that kid doesn't help at all! Much better how the family talked to him at the end. Ian is very smart, a genius, he faked SAT tests for money for other students, but got caught and almost punched to death by a guy, very dramatic how this guy showed up at his house, chased him, punched him and then threatened to throw him out of the window. The most AWESOME moment of the show so far was when Carl punched that footballer with his baseballbat on the knee, that was so horrible to watch, it really hurt, but then Gallaghers were celebrating what Carl did - what a weird but funny moment. A really great episode, it's a 9/10, the best so far, I'm really starting to like the show. The positive thing is that you can't predict what's gonna happen, it's not like there are really open storylines or the usual planned storylines, no, here anything can happen, we see the life of a dysfunctional family, but in the real way, not in the Party Of Five way. It's fun, hope the 2nd half is also that good.

Post #301 - should I start a new thread or what.

The Middle: Season 1, Episode 21

It was an average episode, even a bit boring. Brick had an egg to take care off and later a baby chick, it was so time consuming, he had to give it back. The parents were worrying about Axl, cos his annoying girlfriend Megan was constantly telling him what to do. “I told Axl…” again and again. Then there was a company picnic, Bob got punched by his colleague for stealing his customer and the best scene was when Frankie intentionally hit Megan with something on the head, but pretended it was an accident. I’m glad Axl and Megan broke up, still this episode wasn’t funny apart from 2 moments.

It was nice...but it was also sad that he wouldn't show up for his own son. The school meeting with the principal was left up to his poor family to handle. Frank is a lousy father.

Hey, somebody is reading my stuff. Yeah, of course it was horrible how he had all this excuse to not to go to school, even when Fiona told him (I'm not sure if she told him twice) he had to come because Cal could be expelled. But he didn't care, he was making jokes about school and the scene when he came out of the classroom with Karen and met Fiona and family he just was "oh, everything worked, I knew I would, I knew they wouldn't kick him out." Frank is no father, he's never at home, he lets Fiona do all the work, he's just drinking beer the whole day and lives like a king at Sheila's.

Thanks alot, Betty. Somedays it seems like nobody cares, cos I'm the only one here. Yeah, Shameless is a different kind of family show, it's more honest, much more real, the Gallaghers have problems most other shows wouldn't even talk about. Different...and (or but) good, well said.
