I just saw the trailer/promo or whatever for the first two parts and I think it looks really good too.

Supergirl 3.7: WAKE UP

I was hesitant before watching this episode because I knew it was going to be Kara/Mon-El centric and wasn't sure how it would go. I was pleasantly surprised. Honestly, I've never had a massive problem with Kara/Mon-El. My problem has always been IF Kara still maintains a stable job, closeness with family and friends without her entire world focused on Mon-El. If she keeps things in balance, I am just fine with this pairing. Plus, I think Melissa and Chris have great chemistry.

I thought Chris Wood did a great job with this storyline. However, Mon-El did come out looking like a slight coward and jerky. Then again, it's not like Mon-El was dancing on clouds since he left according to his timeline, 7 years ago. I still wish he would have told the truth much sooner. That said, he was being interrupted while trying to tell the truth more than once. Then again, he had full opportunity when Kara flat out asked him while he was in the cell and yet stayed silent. Then proceeds to risk their lives and hope that someone would let him out so he could help them.

I did like Mon-El and Winn getting to have scenes together. Actually, Mon-El and Winn are my favorite dynamic for Mon-El. I bought their friendship in season 2.

The Kara/James scene with James giving full approval of Kara/Mon-El, I believe, was more about James/Lena than Kara/Mon-El. I think the point was showing that James is over Kara romantically and he's developing feelings for Lena. That way when we see the James/Lena romance, there will be zero doubt.

I liked the J'onn scenes with his father. I like that his father helped him realize that he was not alone on this planet anymore and didn't have to only be about the DEO. It was nice to see them get their own apartment. I also loved how his father pronounced the word coffee. Cute.

I have no clue why there were constant changes from Supergirl to Kara in the DEO. Maybe to show Kara's humanity, especially when she commented on having a human heart/emotions? It was a bit distracting.

I am wondering if Mon-El got the others out of those pods?

As for the Sam/Reign storyline, man that was intense. I knew when Sam gave that speech to Ruby before leaving things would never be the same. I actually think this is the perfect time to bring her on as a villain. Some people think it was fast, I actually believe just the opposite. We had seven full episodes of her origin story and her transformation into Reign. I liked Sam's Fortress of Sanctuary. I thought it was very cool and such an opposite to Kara's Fortress. Obviously that was the point. Nicely done. I like that we got to see Sam as a decent person/alien and then enter villain-mode. I liked seeing her fight it too. This is an interesting storyline. Will we ever see the real Sam again? Sam has good Energy. It's kind of sad and I do root for Sam to come back even though it might not happen since we are talking about a major comic character (Reign). But the way it is set up with a child involved, who knows. There could be a good ending eventually in the TV-version.

So who is going to take in Ruby? Lena? Alex? DEO? I will bet Alex takes in Ruby. It fits right in with the children storyline.

Overall, it was a decent episode. I am still waiting to see if Kara's role this season shifts back into her season 2 Mon-El obsession, or if we'll get to continue to see her care about everyone. IF she continues to care about everyone, I will be satisfied.

Crossover time... Betty, I probably should tell you that in order to fully grasp this crossover we have to watch all four episodes/parts, not just Supergirl.

Anyway, crossover, then really looking forward to getting back to the Reign storyline.

That is kind of annoying.

I figured he’d pass away today. Sad.

Yes it sucks. You’ll get to see Barry/Iris getting married and not just Kara from Supergirl is featured either. Alex plays a large role too. Not sure about the others but Kara/Alex will be heavily involved in every episode.

I liked the dynamic between Micro and Castle. I loved the dynamic between Karen Page and Castle. Billy Russo made an excellent overall villain, and I like how they set it up for him to become Jigsaw in the future.

I enjoyed Madani as a protagonist, and I enjoyed her as a character. She was a worthy foil and ultimate ally for Frank, and I wouldn't mind seeing her in season 2.
Yeah, me too and Mirco/Castle & Karen/Castle were my favourite dynamics this season. Hopefully the show did well to get another season at least.

The Flash 4.7: Therefore I Am

The very best episode of the season in my opinion. I loved it.

I enjoyed that the theme is about how Barry can't outrun The Thinker, so it makes sense that this one features DeVoe at his own pace, not at Barry's.

Also, the real threat was the biggest irony... seeing the human side of both DeVoe and Marlize. Seeing them as happily married, both highly intellectual before the particle accelerator explosion creates a tragedy to The Thinker. It's pretty sad... he’s a man whose thirst for limitless knowledge resulted in him sacrificing his humanity. I've always said there's a large Spiritual component to the comics and here we go again... as he continues to drift away from his human self as his body deteriorates and his war with The Flash continues.

There’s a quiet yet panicky danger to this villain. That final confrontation with Barry really showcased the overwhelming evil lurking beneath DeVoe’s exterior. My heart was pounding when he tells Barry that he’s a greater threat than Savitar, Zoom or even Reverse-Flash. I was scared while seeing all three... yet DeVoe is by far the most dangerous given his origin story and how he behaves/interacts. He doesn't need to be powerful physically... his mental power, his intellect makes him the most dangerous of all, especially when he sits in that chair and you recognize it all the more. Darkness was all over this episode. It's interesting because the episodes before this one were very light and fun for the most part. This episode we are reminded that it's not going to be all fun and games since the biggest threat, darkness has always been lurking around the corner.

We still don't know precisely why he sees Barry/The Flash as his biggest enemy yet but I have some speculation... I think it's possible he wants to use Barry's body since his body can get in touch with the power of the Speed Force.

This villain is scary... he has planned out every possible scenario and detail. He not only outsmarted Barry, almost trashed his career and got him thrown in jail, but effortlessly formed a short-term rift between Barry and his Team by making him seem paranoid and obsessed. The Thinker is the most dangerous villain yet.

Other Stuff:

- I liked seeing Season 1 Villain Wells back. Good stuff. I love how this episode easily connected us back to season 1. Nicely done.

- I loved how the female villain is different than the norm. She's brilliant and in many ways, the brains behind everything.

- Barry and Iris and their continued exchanges/talks are always the best. I know some are complaining about lack of physical passion. I couldn't care less about this. I am more into the mystery/villain aspect with Barry/Iris being the nice cherry on top. I know they are in love, I don't need to see them all over each other. Their little talks are way more intimate and meaningful anyway.

- I was a bit lost as to why the Team didn't initially believe Barry or at least, given him the slight benefit of the doubt. Especially Harry, since his "people" were the ones that came up with DeVoe in the first place. Seemed out of character. Oh well, Barry proved them wrong. That said, he really needs to learn how to break into a house, lol. With his Superhero powers, he could have hidden his identity much better.

-Good to see Wally back!

Really loved this episode. The acting was phenomenal.

Crossover next, then DeVoe will resume haunting once again.

^ I really liked the latest episode of the Flash and it definitely was the best episode so far this season. Hopefully they write more like that in the future.

Crossover next week, days and times

Betty, here's the days and times. I thought it was four days, it's not, only two:

Quote:
The upcoming Arrowverse crossover “Crisis on Earth-X” will once again bring together the various heroes of The CW’s four DCTV shows: Arrow, Supergirl, Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. This year, the villains of the crossover are the heroes’ evil doppelgangers from the dimension known as Earth-X, where the Nazis won World War II.

This year’s four-part crossover “Crisis on Earth-X” will air across two nights, beginning Monday, Nov. 27 with Supergirl and Arrow (on a special night for one week only) and concluding Tuesday, Nov. 28 with The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.

Kara and Alex for sure will be featured in the entire crossover so that's why it's worth watching everything. Apparently this one 100% plays out like a movie too so if we don't see both nights, it's not even worth watching if that makes sense.

I think Arrow is technically Monday night for the crossover but it’s probably immaterial since all the Superheroes will be in every hour.

But yes, Monday is Supergirl/Arrow and Tuesday is The Flash/Legends.
