I watch or have watched 7 of the suggested shows! I guess I like that genre.

You do.

Chesapeake Shores is the only other one for me.

I guess I like Treat Williams.

Look at this… I found a reviewer of The Plot. Look at the date. It’s not a very thorough review and beware, he hates Ephram. But nevertheless, so interesting to read:

TELEVISION REVIEW; For Lovers of the Pleasantly Nutty

Treat Williams has rarely looked as comfortable as he does in ''Everwood,'' a promising new drama full of wry touches that has its debut tonight on WB. Now if he would just get rid of that annoying teenage son!

Mr. Williams is Andrew Brown, a famed neurosurgeon who, after his wife dies in a car accident, tries to cope by moving from New York City to the picturesque town of Everwood in the Colorado mountains. Maybe it's the high altitude, but Everwood seems to harbor more than its share of pleasantly nutty characters, and they play nicely against Mr. Williams's laid-back doctor.

There's Edna (Debra Mooney), who rides up on a motorcycle and talks her way into a job as the nurse in the new practice Dr. Brown is setting up. There's Harold Abbott (Tom Amandes), the other doctor in town, who is less than thrilled about the interloper. Between the two of them, they steal about half the scenes in the pilot episode.

The show, at least in its debut, lurches between pathos and humor in an addictive sort of way. The only missteps are on the home front. Mr. Williams has nice moments with Vivien Cardone, who plays Delia, his 9-year-old daughter, but the son, Ephram (Gregory Smith), couldn't be more irksome.

It's not the young actor's fault. He's burdened with a character type that's so tired it ought to be banned from television for the rest of the century: the teenager resentful because busy Dad was never there for his piano recitals and such. It's as if the writers of this otherwise well-conceived show felt they had to throw in something from the cliché closet to capture the ''Smallville'' crowd.

The pilot shows signs that this may be only temporary, that Ephram might eventually do something other than whine. If not, Dr. Brown would be doing us all a favor to send him off to an East Coast reform school, because the rest of ''Everwood'' is pretty appealing. It's not clear from the pilot -- the only episode provided for review -- what direction things will take now that the exposition has been taken care of. Will Dr. Brown actually be doing a lot of doctoring, or will the children or those wacky townspeople get most of the focus? The pilot, though, certainly makes you want to tune in next time to find out.

EVERWOOD

WB, Tonight at 9, Eastern and Pacific times; 8, Central time.

Directed by Mark Piznarski; created by Greg Berlanti; Mr. Berlanti and Mickey Liddell, executive producers; produced by Everwood, Utah Inc. in association with and distributed by Warner Brothers.

WITH: Treat Williams (Andrew Brown), Gregory Smith (Ephram Brown), Vivien Cardone (Delia Brown), Tom Amandes (Dr. Harrold Abbott), John Beasley (Irv Wallace), Chris Pratt (Bright Abbott), Emily VanCamp (Amy Abbott) and Debra Mooney (Edna Wallace).

Great review! Ephram was a bit hard to take initially, especially in that first episode, but we all came to know and love him.

Exactly.

I do appreciate the reviewer understanding how significant of an acting presence Treat Williams sports.

I wonder if we should start a Betty White thread? I know she was a guest star but it’s still BETTY WHITE and she was on OUR show! Plus Treat tweeted about her a bit and I could add some of his thoughts to her thread.

Thoughts?

Yes, indeed.

You’re good at decorating an opening. Do you want to do it or should I? We could have a fun title like the legend was on our show or something like that?

Yes it doesn’t seem right that we don’t have a Thread for her. She’s a legend!
