Hi everyone ,

The Fan Forum Graphics Team is in the process of (re)customising message boards and now it's your turn!

If you have any picture or colour suggestions please post them in this thread. Don't post (hotlink) the pictures, links to them are fine. Make sure that the pictures are of as high quality as possible and that the top of the head of the person in the picture isn't cropped off. We also like to use photoshoot images when possible, preferably individual pictures of each cast member. When suggesting colours please keep in mind that some colours will work better than others. The Team usually tries to avoid really vibrant and dark colours because we have found in the past that they are hard to look at for long periods of time. If you would like some help coming up with colour combinations we recommend checking out the Color Palettes or Coolors websites. As we want every board to have their own unique look it is preferable that you do not link to the customisations of other boards as suggested colour schemes.

Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions for this as you are the ones who will be posting on the board and we hope to make as many people happy with the finished result as possible. It does not matter if you are a board moderator, regular poster, or casual poster here. If you have a suggestion, please share it here with us .

Your suggestions for possible pictures and colours will be taken into serious consideration, but in the interest of seeing every board receive the best customised look possible the final decision concerning how this board will be customised will be made by the members of the Graphics Team. This is because we want to make sure that the selected graphic and colours fit into the overall design scheme that we've established for Fan Forum.

For a full explanation of the message board customisation process, see this thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to send Mel, Chelle, or Kate a PM or ask the Team on the message board customisation thread.

Please leave this topped until a week or so after the board has been (re)customised.

Note: It usually takes approximately two weeks for us to finish making the new banner and the sooner we know what you want, the more we can work on it (though it can take a few months or so to set it up with the new colours on the board), so please let us know your suggestions as soon as possible.

When the Team have finished making the graphic I will close this thread until the graphic and colours get put up. It will then be re-opened so that you can share your thoughts about it.

Do you have any favourite pictures of specific characters you would love to see used? Maybe a character who should be in it who is not or you would not mind if was not included?

I'm in no way familiar with the show but I presume the must have characters are: Sydney, Arvin, Michael, Marcus, Marshall, & Jack. Just guessing since they're in every season.

When looking at pictures it is preferable if you can find individual HQ promotional pictures of each character that you wish to include. For example I did find this one for Sydney. But we understand with older shows that can be harder to find.

How do you feel about colours? I know last time we went with similar to the previous colours, so are we looking for a change this time around? Or going to continue with the lavender/purple shades?

I think you'd be better off using promotional pictures like that one, for quality if nothing else. I think that's from Season 1 or 2, which isn't an issue. I think we got pretty much everyone on the current one, so it's tough.

As for colours, I think it's definitely time for a change. I'll have a look at the links you posted later.

True, I really liked that we got so many of them in it.

Francie is missing though I'd have put her in instead of Sark or Lauren

I would say that Sydney, Jack and Sloane are a given, I'd add Dixon/Marshall as well as Vaughn, Nadia and Irina since they're basically all family in the end

Yeah, changing it up sounds good as long as it doesn't get too a dark colour scheme (I think we started with a dark red back in the day - please nothing of the sort)

Ooh yeah, good idea.

So we could just try to stick with Season 2 ones like that, maybe with a similar colour scheme; I had a quick look for a few (one, two, three).

We no longer do dark boards and try to avoid harsh colours so you don't have to worry about that happening

We can also combine some of the shades from the schemes you liked and make sure they won't be too overpowering

Looks like you both had the same thought for colours then if you both were drawn to the same colour scheme

. To extend on what Kate said any dark shades are used minimally & in places like the buttons, bars, & links now so no more dark boards

For characters is this everyone you are thinking? Or did you want to keep Sark &/or Lauren?

It's not vital, but I guess we could stick to the couples where possible.

Syd - Vaughn
Nadia - Weiss

The rest could go around and in-between the pairs.

Edit: should we include Will this time?

I'm looking at Season 2 promos.

Irina, Syd & Jack - I like this one.

Vaughn

Dixon

Sloane

Weiss and Nadia are from different seasons, but you can't really tell.

There are other options on that site, so whatever works best for GT will be fine!
