I like that argument too since it's like they buried their love story in S5, along with Pacey being realistic during the scene. Joey was being very delusional in that scene before Pacey broke it all down.

At this point in S3, did you guys know or wonder where the show was going with Pacey and Joey? I mean they went from practically zero scenes in S2 to multiple one-on-one scenes in almost every episode at the start of S3.

I wish I could remember exactly what I was feeling during the early S3 episodes when they started to hang out more. All I know is that I was obsessed with Pacey and was rooting for them to get together.

At the time, I just thought they were going to be closer friends lol. It's silly to think that now, cause they had all the telltale signs of falling in love and getting together. So I would of obviously saw it coming if it happened now, but back then (especially when it was before the internet and spoilers) I didn't see it coming at all, saw their chemistry but thought it would go nowhere, then was pleasantly surprised episode after episode. Since they barely talked in S2, that was another reason I thought nothing would come out of Pacey/Joey. Glad they saw a goldmine back in S1 and made sure to revisit it.

I think it was the same way with me. I don't think I read too much into their scenes then, but with time and how many TV shows I've watched, it is very obvious that the beginning of S3 was setting up Pacey and Joey getting together.

Yeah, it's obvious now in "Like a Virgin" when Pacey says all sexy, "Maybe you and I will become friends." Then he holds and comforts Joey as she cries as that song plays. It's like "Aww, here we go baby!" lol. Love it.

I wasn't sure what to think. I remember getting the Four to Tango previews and thought the person in the background was exaggerating. When it played out, Joey clearly was bothered seeing Pacey and Jen kissing. I still wasn't sure where the writers were going. I saw things where I could tell Joey was falling for Pacey like he was while watching the reruns

He was so flirty with her in the FTT scene

I thought in FTt there are a lot of signs Joey liked Pacey more than a friend. She chooses to spend a week taking dance lessons with him. She could have had him clean for her. She acts nervous when she thinks he's hitting on her. She overreacts to him and Jen. When she gets her coat, she looks around the room to see if Jen is still there. When she holds Pacey's hand, it goes back to what Dawson said about feelings

I love that moment in "Like a Virgin," just so cute and telling of where S3 was going. Even though Joey was jealous of Pacey and Jen together, at the time I still thought they weren't going to really go there. How naive of me at the time lol. I love how that dance teacher could instantly tell Pacey and Joey were attracted to each other and had major sexual tension. Along with Joey being so jealous over Pacey and Jen.
