I've thought about it and I truly believe Joey and Jen became friends in season 3. Joey confided to Jen about Pacey and it was the turning point for them because she needed someone to help her through this process. Especially after Joey realized Jen was not interested in Pacey that way, it paved the way for them to bond over the secret of PJ and it took off there.

I agree. I loved how their relationship changed in S3, and Joey could talk to Jen about her feelings for Pacey. I hated how they fought in S2, especially over Dawson of all people. He wasn't worth it.

I feel like they started to get along in season 2 after the girls thing. I feel like they had some good friendship interaction in seasons 3 and 4

Eh, I don't really think so lol. I think it really started in S3, especially when Joey confided in Jen that Pacey kissed her and she was confused. They had a nice friendship in S4 too. I preferred when they were friends like they were in those two seasons as opposed to being at each other's throats.

I think their friendship was best in S3 and S4 as well. And I just loved their last bittersweet scene in the series finale.
