Nobody expected porn, but the scene could have been more sensual or at least romantic. Even lamer: Dawson and Joey had some realistic, touching scenes before and after The Big Moment. There was plausible tension as Joey addressed her lack of contact with Dawson this summer and recounted a favorite shared memory. Then they touched. After an uncomfortably long embrace, they kissed for a minute or so (not one garment came off) and fell back on the bed as the show went to commercial.
Joey's first time with Pacey during Season 4 was much better. Maybe it's good that this new episode didn't get a lot of hype, because lapsed viewers who might have been lured back would have been disappointed.

Caption for the picture reads: Up the creek: Viewers weren't asking for much from D/J's love scenes, and they didn't get much.

6.)They always have massive arguments but never resolve anything.
7.)They didn't want each other, they just didn't want to lose the other.
8.)Well he almost killed Pacey to win her love so that's a reason to hate them.
9.)Sex the first time was so bad that they almost killed each other and never repeated their mistake.

I was just posting at the PJ thread and noticed when DJ didn't work was because it was like they were always censoring themselves around each other. It was like Joey was afraid to say something to upset Dawson because she was afraid of losing his friendship

I always thought that. They were never themselves around each other. A romance, or even a good friendship, cannot exist if you are always trying to act different and feel you can't be yourself. That was a problem with most of the relationships on the show. P/Jo, however, were always themselves around each other, which is why they worked so well. Oh and you're welcome!!!

word barb. That's why Joey could never really be happy with Dawson. The only time I remember her having a spine with him in years was after finding out he slept with her under false pretenses. Then, she finally says what she wants

Oh I know. She used to, until he kissed her and their whole friendship went down the tube.

I'm so glad she FINALLY told him off in S6. Which is why I can't wait to see that part, no matter how many times I've read the recap, nothing will be better than actually seeing it.

Even in season 5 after he sleeps with Jen, she had a right to be more upset after telling him that she would be daydreaming for the both or them, but then he hooks up with Jen

I believe the person who posts those is a PJer (I think they mentioned that PJ was the best couple ever or something like that), so hopefully they'll post that episode.

I don't get the daydreaming thing. I mean, I guess it's supposed to mean she'll be there for him or something...?

barb, she's back in her fifteen year old time frame and this is after Dawson blamed her the night before while drunk for being responsible for Mitch's death. He does it in front of overyone. Kind of Promicide without the yelling. Pacey even has this line later with Dawson when he says that Joey will forgive him which I subtlety took as her forgiving him in for yelling at her at the prom. He does apologize though. He says he had all these dreams about them being together or something, but things changed and she says she'll daydream for the both of them. It was a DJish thing. It's not worth watching. It's the last clip from 507 at youtube.

There are actually decent DP scenes in season 5. I don't know if you like watching those. They were equals in their scenes. No Dawson acting like he's better or badmouthing Pacey like in season 2. He didn't even mention the PJ "betrayal" during his drunken rant which for once I would of actually liked becasue then that would of mean the writers acknowledge PJ. I wonder if Dawson was nicer to Pacey because he wasn't with Joey because they actually seemed like friends this season

I don't think Dawson deserves Pacey or Joey as friends, personally. But since they both want that friendship so bad, I guess it's good. The daydreaming thing is complete crap.

the problem was Joey felt so bad for hurting Dawson, so she coddled him, like her lie. Joey even makes it a point that her answer would have been different years a go which should of told Dawson right a way that she slept with Pacey. He needs confirmation, so Joey freaks out and lies. I don't think it was because she was ashamed or waiting for Dawson because why says that "years a go" comment, but to not upset him which is why they were so unhealthy

Hshapir, I agree. Of course she wasnt ashamed or anything, she just didnt want him to freak out and cause a huge scene like he always does! The problem was she pitied him which I think is why she was so nice when he bitched her out and said she killed his dad. She always felt sorry for him and felt like she owed him something because he was her friend for so long. Finally, in season six, she stops feeling most of that pity and realizes that treating him like a kid isnt what he needs. The lie just showed that she and Dawson had lost all honesty and that they didnt feel like they could really be themselves or share their lives with each other. He was so judgemental, she didnt think he would understand.

She basically flat out told him with all her babbling and it was SO obvious what she was about to say, but he didnt want to hear the truth and she knew it. She had tried so hard to regain his friendship and she knew he would throw yet another one of his temper tantrums and act like she did it delibrately to hurt him or something. He needed to realize that NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE ABOUT HIM.
