Sorry if this had been addressed somewhere else, does anyone know why Andie left the show? Feel like we never got an explanation?

Meredith Monroe was let go because the writers couldn't write for her character, they had no ideas anymore, they even joked that their only idea was a Dawson/Andie couple, very funny right ?

The writers having no more story lines for Andie is a load of B.S.

There are reasons, but not the story line one. The actress, Meredith Monroe,was becoming very popular. Take a look at the link and you'll see why she was sent packing.

When she was on Criminal Minds, I didn't even know about Dawson's Creek, so she was just an actress playing Hotchner's wife and it wasn't til someone mentioned it here that I even knew it was the same person.

There had to be a better reason than her not having a story line. I think they easily could have continued with her story line, but I guess once she was no longer a love interest for Pacey, they didn't want to invest in her character.

Andie had so much more story left in her that could be written into the show. Yes, her mental illness was addressed, not cured, so there's the story in that. Rebuilding her relationship with Pacey would've been a place to start with.

the show wanted Pacey/Joey together so bad that they completely axed Andie's character to make it happen.
