Reading through Twitter has been so entertaining.
The rumor is (which I kind of believe to be true) is that the GF coming to Paradise was planned from the beginning and the reason they stayed (instead of leaving to go home) is so that they can get engaged at the end in Paradise (free dates, free rings, free vacation, etc.). Supposedly, Demi & this girl have been dating since February (so it wasn’t just “casual” dating, as Demi claimed) and this was all planned by Demi & the producers to prop up the LGBT. Again, rumors, and Demi is denying it's not true, of course, but we’ll see how the rest of the season plays out.
