yes indeed.
nico has actually called karolina by a few nicknames:
1. "k" - nico called her this in brian k vaughan's original run
2. "kar" - nico called her this in joss whedon's run (used sparingly by other writers)
3. "karrie" - nico calls her this in rainbow rowell's run
it's an interesting evolution of nico's nicknames for karolina! as a side-note, nico is typically the only one who calls karolina by a nickname. alex or chase once called karolina LSD (in reference to her lucy in the sky codename), and once time chase referred to karolina as "k". but nico is far and away the only person who gives her nicknames. it's a cute little thing to show how close they are!
