Awww-I loved Duncan too-Teddy was really good and so cute...I am rewatching Season 1 on Hulu-and when Duncan jumped off the bleachers-because he was upset when he saw Troy and Veronica kissing...and she runs right to him...and then afterwards in the car with Veronica...at the hospital, when his as-hole father makes Veronica leave...it is a sad love story. They did love each other-deeply.

I even felt worst for them during the rewatch from Duncan's perceptive because the whole time he thought Veronica was his sister which is why he had to act so distance and sort of cold to her at times. Obviously when we first watch watching the series, we just saw it from Veronica's point of view of Duncan just dumping her for no reason but when you re-watch, you can totally get it.
Duncan guard only came down when he was drunk or something.
