^ I don't know since Riley was on the show at the start as well... and obviously I could've done without the Parker stuff.
Season 4 is just right because I also feel that Buffy can finally be with a man that her friend Willow wasn't in love with.
Although I loved Buffy/Xander chemistry in season 1, it would've been a little complicated of them being together while Willow is sadly pinning.
So season 4 is just the perfect time. No Angel, no unresolved Willow/Xander feelings and Buffy starting a whole new chapter in her life... as well as Xander.
