The Soul Stone isn't confusing IMO. The Gamora we got to know from GOTG 1 to Infinity War is dead and gone. It's the same with anyone and everyone that is sacrificed for the Soul Stone. I heard if they bring the sacrifice back, they lose the stone. The death is permanent and can't be undone.
