I wonder if Kyle has been around while Michael was helping Liz. You'd think his willingness to help Isobel might soften Michael's opinion of him, but maybe the way he treated Alex in high school is too much for Michael to let go of yet. I'm curious to see if things have thawed between them.
I also wonder if Kyle even realises that Michael doesn't like him.
