There's a thin line between 'naive' and 'hypocrite', then
I just sympathized a lot more with the version played by Michelle Pfeiffer, I guess their portrayals (her and Reese) were just very different and Michelle's version seemed much less aware of the intense courtship she and Valmont were sharing.
