Haha. On my last rewatch I was giggling cause it's obvious they filmed it later, after all the other people left. (I mean it makes sense since it's just Jennifer's imagination but still.
)

Season one did some adorable film tricks (I'm not really sure what to call it) that other seasons never revived.
Example: I believe it's episode 1x10 when Brian gets robbed and Justin runs away to NY? Well I'm talking about stuff like when Michael and Brian are on the phone together, they're on screen with a split screen, and Brian's like "F  k Woodys, I've been robbed. Get your a$$ over here." and it remains on a split screen but you see Michael run off camera on the left side, and hear the sound of his car pulling up a second later, and then see him meet Brian on the right side of the screen.
Little film tricks like that were all over this season! And it was part of the early episodes' charm that made me fall in love with the show.  This season just had such a special vibe. It would've been interesting to see them continue this trend, at least on occasion. |
