I wonder what it must have been like for Rigsby or Van Pelt to meet their future in-laws. We never actually saw Van Pelt's father, although we know a little about him. I don't think Val Pelt ever met Rigsby's father, although we did see him. I can see Van Pelt's father being a bit like Frank Reagan - in terms of being a stickler for rules. I suspect that is where Grace got it.
