I think so but the thing is I don't believe those writers would know actual romance if it slapped them across the face. Which is why you get the garbage lady and the priest (jfc
) instead of something like a genuine old school romance. Emily and Norman handed them magic on a silver platter and it was probably by accident which could help explain why it ended so stupidly and nonsensically.
