Last I heard, the Disney shareholders voted in favour of buying Fox, but the deal is yet to be approved by European regulators or something. The acquisition is on track, but the chickens haven't hatched yet.
MCU villains can still be hit or miss. While there have been amazing ones since then like Killmonger, there continues to be pretty forgettable ones like Sonny Burch. And Marvel still kills off most of them.
