Well I think when she first had the concept of the series it was about Noah and all the people who are intertwined with him and his storyline. I think Helen got more scenes because Maura fought for them, which is a shame as it impacted on the time for the other characters. Noah is the writer and Dominic is her favourite actor - she said she really wanted him for the part at the beginning so she is bound to feel that Noah is the most important one. Luckily Dominic makes Noah watchable, but it is a pity the time wasn't more evenly distributed between the characters. I have found that I don't really care about Helen and Vic so much as the others, but that is just me. I still see Vic with buboils all over his face and being sick outside the grocery store.
