The mutants being a horror movie is dumb too. I don't mind darkness as long as there is some lighthearted stuff too. The Gifted is doing okay with it.
The Legends whimsy is what makes it different then the other comic book shows. That's why I like it over the others. And Gothan goes so far with the crazy that it makes entertaining.

I do like the Legends whimsy, Melissa.
I just don't want them going too far like Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman did back in the 90's. That went way over the top. Oh, and I forgot to mention Gotham.
I do wish they'd slow down a bit because they crammed a whole lot into that last season, and they need to leave Bruce some storylines for when he becomes Batman. They killed off Ra's al Ghul already? Bruce hasn't even put on the suit yet! And what about Talia?
