It is also a bit sad. It tells you that for the most part her manipulation did work on people. Can you imagine how many people she had lied to and manipulated through her life and maybe even hurt?
Then of course most probably she also knew how to choose her toys (read victims) wisely. She had no option to chose when it came to Martinez and Flores.

Yes and it seems that Dan gave her the benefit of the doubt in the beginning. As he was about to take the stand he did not watch the trial before and did not know her strategy. He says that he realized during the questioning that the defense is trying to paint Travis as a bad guy. He says that he welcomed then Martinez questions and was happy to say the truth no matter if he was defense or prosecution witness. His sister was definitely more on Jodi's side while Dan seemed to kind of side in the end with Travis. He definitely did not help the defense case despite being their witness. And with his testimony he also discredited his sister's words. So in the end there was no gain for the defense.
