They retconned S3 entirely and now have inserted this split personality that doesn't add up. Killer Frost was first murderous but now is a snarky pen pal.
She's not conscious when Killer Frost takes over. Yet she remembered everything that happened in S3 and even when she came to HR's funeral she was fully conscious.
