I just finished binge-watching this and really enjoyed it. It had action and suspense mixed in with a lot of heart.
Too many sci-fi shows nowadays go overboard on the dark depressing moments, but don't really build enough relationship or character moments that make you care about what's happening to the people in the show. I'm really glad that's not the case here.
Regarding the finale:
That is, providing the show has a season 2 (which it really should).
