I understood that you were specifically comparing Kat's voice to Jessie's. It's great that Kat has such a similar voice, since it will enhance your experience of the show.

My comment was sort of a tangent, because I'm thinking of seeing the touring company here. In this case, I'm not that familiar with the soundtrack - and I'm purposefully not listening to it so that I won't raise those sorts of expectations. I've seen a few touring companies, and while they are good - some are even great - we often get weeks of tv ads with the Broadway soundtrack before the show opens and then it's a bit jarring when Jean ValJean sounds nothing like what you're used to hearing.
