Yes, I enjoyed the revival because it brought back the nostalgia of Stars Hollow. i didn't really need an update on the characters though especially because i wasn't super happy with the choices some of them were making (ahem, Rory).
I agree it's unfortunate when shows don't get a goodbye, and then I think it's nice to have them let us know what happened to their characters.
