Yeah, the age gap is definitely mostly disturbing because of the fact that she's a young teen and the person playing her love interest is technically an adult. An age gap of 6 years between people in their 20s/30s would be more acceptable IMO.

Yes, she came out to Toni (newer character) about her past relationship with a girl, which was destroyed by her mother.
I definitely got the vibe that Cheryl was bi, judging from past scenes with Josie (some weird stalking that Cheryl did re: Josie) but nothing ever came out of it.
I'm reserving judgement to see how it all plays out though, I still side-eye the decision that TPTB did to queerbait in the Pilot itself and having Betty/Veronica kiss because.
