Which doesn't fit with Luke trying to kill his nephew! Mark Hamill may have taken back his criticism of the writing for Luke in TLJ, but we all know that's just Mark trying to be nice, as he often does. That was his reaction to the backlash against Rian Johnson. The writing for Luke in TLJ just plain doesn't fit with ROTJ. They did Luke down, just as they subdued Leia in TFA and took Han's edge away from him in TFA. Whatever excuses can be offered for those moves, it remains that they did that, with the undeniable effect of doing down the original trio in the new movies. I would have welcomed a series of movies about the original trio, but I have little interest in a series of movies about these new characters.
