Never heard of Lady Bird.
I'd say give OUAT at least til 1.11. I really started getting roped in around 1.07, but if you couldn't make it past 1.02 before, you may need a few extra episodes. Honestly, I fell in love with Lana Parrilla before I even fell in love with the show which is what kept me watching in the first episodes. LOL.
