Exactly. He was going through his own personal drama and needed time, I get that. But he didnt have to leave right when things were going so badly for the people around him. If anything, Rose's cancer should have put things into perspective for him. Made him realize he needed to be with the people he cared about, not away from them...

completely agree. I will always find it really out of character and selfish of Ephram to leave when he did. He was not just leaving Amy either, he was leaving Bright, his best friend, too. You are right, it definitely should have put things in perspective for Ephram, especially since he knew what losing your mom feels like... he had to have known what Amy and Bright were struggling with during their mother's cancer. It was weird how he just left. He left them during such a horrible time. He also left his little sister too and she had no idea when he was returning.

That makes three of us who thought Ephram was being totally insensitive to the needs of his friends and even his own sister who was devastated when she knew Ephram was leaving
