I totally get it. I was never a fan of any of the original Star Trek franschise, but these new movies are awesome and you don’t even need to know anything about the original ST to watch/enjoy these movies. The first Star Trek of this set starts from the “beginning” of when Jim becomes the captain of The Enterprise, so even if you don’t know anything about the original series or its characters, you could totally watch these movies and not be lost because they go into its own storylines/character development. Some of the characters’ backstories and relationships changed from the series, and that bothered some die-hard fans, but that honestly didn’t bother me, and I’ve mainly just enjoyed them because of Chris.
But I have gotten to love all of the characters is this series, as well!
