And could see how Booth was there for Brennan, who did seem to get the oddities of his daughter and embraced them and when Brennan was going through the discovery that she didn't even know her parents in the way she believed she did... He was there, so I think he respected Booth and if her daughter was going to find happiness, it should be Booth!
And he also liked being able to come along for ride on the case like this one. And just spend some time with his daughter!
