When I first started playing guitar and singing all I did was try to learn other people's songs. For some reason I haven't done that as much lately. The occasional cover for a show, yes. But not really just for the fun of it. Maybe it's because I'm always so focused on my own music and writing or maybe the vail has been lifted. Who knows why. But I heard this song by The Dirty Projectors a while ago and thought it was so beautiful. The vocal and horn parts at the beginning are so cool and the song tells such a beautifully tragic story. Love it. So I sat down today and tried to learn the horn parts on guitar a little. It took forever but I had such an awesome time this morning just learning other people's music.
