4x13 | "PRAIMFAYA"
Never has the show been more epic to me than it was during this episode.
It's one of the greatest season finales of a television show I've ever seen,
right up there with the epic Buffy finales. (High praise coming from me.)
It had it all. Drama. Action. Tragedy. Subtle humor. Suspense. Romance.
Plus a cliffhanger that still has me scratching my head. And . . . 6 YEARS.
It was a Bellarke AF episode, which I obviously loved. They made me cry,
made me melt, made me feel like my heart was being ripped out of my
chest. Months later, and I still struggle to be coherent about it. Seriously.
This episode focused on many of my favorite characters. I thought it was
a wise decision not to alternate between the space-bound crew and the
bunker, as it ratcheted up the intensity of the storyline. The actors all
brought their A games, and I have to give Jason credit for writing an
incredible script. The direction, the music, especially "I see you" at the
end . . . it all just combined to create a truly great hour of television.
