I really fail to see how Mike is helping anyone. His involvement jeopardizes the case. He signed a document saying he'd stay out of it. And it's a conflict of interest for the firm. He easily could have found another firm to take this on. They'd jump all over it. It jeopardizes his professional life, the firm- where his fiancée works, the clinic.....everything. And it jeopardizes his personal relationships. Rachel seems pretty fed up. And she should be. She's put up with a lot from Mike. Not only is he lying to his boss/friend, he's putting her in the position of lying to her boss. Way to go. Then there's his relationship with Harvey, and Donna and Louis for that matter. And involving frank Gallo. Idiotic. I have no sympathy for Mike.
I agree. But to be fair to Mike, I think the circumstances of the case, and of this man's son's death, hit too close to home and he's letting his emotions cloud his better judgement. He's going about "helping" in all the wrong ways, stepping on the people closest to him for the supposed greater good, jeopardizing everything--this case, the reputation of both his firm and the clinic, and his closest relationships--just because he can't say "no" when he should. (And, there may be other factors motivating him, but I won't speculate here.)

It interests me that they clearly decided to bring the personal aspect of Darvey back to the forefront, while at the same time they're saying that the relationship with Paula is serious- or at least something that is really getting invested in. It's not coming across as a fling or casual dating or self destructive.
Again, I won't speculate too much, but I think both Harvey and Donna have been unaware of what their feelings for each other are, or, at least, have repressed those feelings to the extent that they can feel safe with each other and work together without a messy romance--they both have tons of emotional baggage-- disrupting what has been a very successful working partnership and friendship.
