Michael sure did deserve it - that was the worst thing he said but I thought he often said horrible things throughout the seasons - like back in season one when they Debbie says about high suicides in teens and he says not this one or something not nice as well. I'm not sure why but he certainly did get some of the nasty lines.

He didn't seem very happy when Brian and Justin got back together either. You see him at Babylon while they are dancing and his face just looks so unhappy and annoyed or something.
