Another version I had was that Sly calls Walter to tell him to turn on the TV so he does, and both him and Paige are in bed, staring at the TV, first completely shocked to see Ray there on a zoom-up and then when the camera pans out, they see the garage and immediately jump out of bed before Ray does anything stupid like letting the press inside the garage.
Then when Walter's dressed, he sees that Ray is in front of the front door so he opens it quickly and pulls Ray inside before slamming the door shut to keep the swarming press out.
