I don't think it's something I will ever get used to or be comfortable with... and I guess that's a good thing. Like I've said, I'm just SO PROUD of Toby. His talent is for REAL kids.
I hope that not too many of his fans freak out about seeing him in this role. I know it feels strange that he would play a rapist/abuser onscreen while at the same time running a half marathon to raise money to help women and children who are victims of domestic abuse. But he's not a hypocrite. He's certainly not glorifying that awful behavior. He's ACTING. Sometimes I have to remind myself, but he's ACTING. In real life, I believe he is a genuinely caring and compassionate young man. I hope people understand that he is still the same Toby.
