I'm also guessing the show will cover more of the books since the movie only did up to book 3.

Anyway, as someone who loves the movie, the pilot episode did throw me a little because of the shift in style (I thought there was too much color at first) but now that I'm almost halfway through I'm totally onboard and I appreciate how much more faithful it is to the books.

I'm glad you love both. I think the main reason why some movie fans are iffy with the show is because they did enjoy Jim's portrayal of the movie which is understandable. Tbh, I didn't watch the movie back then because I wasn't a Jim fan even if it's a story that I'd definitely go and watch. But now all these comparisons did make me curious and I'll keep an open mind and watch the movie just to see how Jim did his portrayal.
