The thing is I think Jocelyn gave up on Jonathan mainly because he is part demon
That's what I always interrupt it to be even in the books. I think she did want to save him but it's impossible because of the way he turned so evil.

Oh I think I remember now. I guess they did do that and they ended up killing her since I know Maia was rescued.
