Yeah but I can understand more why Lois and Clark wouldn't be married than Luke and Lorelai. The last time I checked Luke doesn't put on tights and save people when he's not working at the diner and Lorelai doesn't go hunting down stories and probably get kidnapped/almost killed on a frequent basis
